Public Records Request
The Bear Valley Water District is committed to open and transparent government. The California State Legislature adopted the Public Records Act in 1975. It is designed to give the public access to information in the possession of public agencies. The Act also provides that public records shall be open for inspection during regular office hours of the agency. The public can inspect or receive a copy of any record unless the record is exempted from disclosure under the act.
It is Bear Valley Water District's goal to provide the public with timely access to its public records. California Government Code Section 6250 defines public records as “…any writing containing information relating to the conduct of the public’s business prepared, owned, used or retained by any state or local agency regardless of physical form or characteristic.”
The Public Records Act applies to the records of the Bear Valley Water District and all divisions, boards, and commissions created by the District's Board of Directors. For example, public records can include, but are not limited to, papers, books, maps, charts, photographs, audiotapes, videotapes, and information stored on a computer.

To request copies of (or review) District records, please provide additional information by filling out the Records Request Form below. This form should be used to request California public records that are made available pursuant to the California Public Records Act - Government Code Section 6250.
BVWD prefers that requests be submitted electronically by email using this form; however, requests may be submitted by mail or fax. If an alternate method is used, the information requested on this form should be included in the request.
